About Us

We are proud to have breathed new life into this beautiful old barn and historic site. Our aim is to provide a unique and easily accessible venue for our customers to buy and sell everything from antiques and rural bygones to curios and general items while in a beautifully historic setting with a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere.

Eriswell Hall Barns first opened in Summer 2006. The main barn is listed for it’s age and beauty and after standing as merely a storage unit for many years, a local father and son felt that it would be a fantastic venue to operate as an auction house and general sales barn. Their view was that local people could buy and sell anything from a bicycle to their car or an old set of golf clubs to their most valuable antique and within a very much Anglo/American community, it could serve a great purpose for a transient population faced with the dilemma of what can and can’t go on a plane! An easy to access location in a lovely old and historic barn which is lovely to look at even when there’s nothing in it! The barn was then modified delicately in line with historic building requirements and what would be acceptable from a customer point of view and opened as an auction house. To date, the idea has worked and there is now a large base of registered customers who use the site to buy and sell on a regular basis. Our next step has been to establish our services (as detailed on the home page) and ensure an infrastructure which supports quality, value and service for our customers. We have recently taken on the services and advice of Mr David Palmer, a well known local auctioneer renowned for his TV work with programmes such as Bargain Hunt and Cash in the Attic. As well as his charismatic auctioneering style, he has brought with him a wealth of knowledge and experience which we are able to apply to support our goals and be confident about providing accurate information and valuations for customers.

We hold an auction of antiques and general items every Saturday. Buying and selling with us could not be easier and we strive to ensure your experience with us is as comfortable as possible. Many customers have said they found the process far easier than they’d thought. We take lots in to sell from Monday to Wednesday. Close to put our catalogue together on a Thursday. On Friday we open all day for customers to preview lots for sale and on Saturday we hold the sale from 10am. Come and see what you think!
